Here’s a little about us.

At Sweet Spot Dog Training, we've tackled just about every canine challenge imaginable—from puppy training, to managing aggression and reactivity, to teaching an old dog new tricks.

Owner and Lead Trainer Katelyn Freund has been training dogs and taming humans since 2019. After years of working with owners and their canines through classes, private lessons, and board & train services, she knew her work all boiled down to this: Dog training only sticks if the humans know how to use it.

This led to Sweet Spot Dog Training. The vision? Effective dog training, with a strong dose of owner education to achieve lasting results. We offer more than just commands; our mission is to strike the perfect balance of dog training and human training. We prioritize practical dog training that truly hits the sweet spot, for both dogs and their humans.

With years of experience training a wide variety of breeds, sizes, and behavioral issues, Sweet Spot Dog Training is dedicated to developing personalized training strategies that ensure your dog's success across all environments and stages of life. Whether it's your living room or the local park, we prepare your dog (and you!) to thrive.

Katelyn Freund lives with her partner, three dogs, and two cats in downtown Wilmington, NC. When she’s not training dogs, she enjoys time in the garden and shooting pool.
